Halina Edwards (b. Jamaica) is a Jamaican contemporary textile artist, sculptor, and workshop facilitator based in London. Rooted in materiality, her work explores Caribbean experience, tradition and Afro-Atlantic spirituality and ritual. She bridges these worlds through processes of placing, tying, binding, and layering materials into hanging and freestanding sculptures. Using materials such as shells, bamboo, leather, and nylon, she investigates how these materials reveal themselves when given space and time. No longer passive, but carriers of memory and meaning.
Artistic commissions include Uniqlo (2024); Crafts Council (2023), and Create London (2021). Workshop facilitation includes South London Gallery (2025/2022); Milan Design Week (2025); Uniqlo, UK (2024); Museum of the Home, UK (2023); Dortmunder-U, Germany (2022) and Flock Together, UK (2021/2022).
